The Swick, a personal-defense tool, was designed by Sal Glesser, the founder of Spyderco, and inspired by the innovations of French knifemaker Fred Perrin. Its standout feature is an index-finger hole, a design inspired by Perrin, that ensures the knife remains securely in the user's hand for optimal grip security.
The hole, with a diameter of 1.03 inches (26.1mm), is suited for a man's hand. It is positioned between a Wharncliffe blade with a full-flat grind and a handle designed in a pistol-grip style with a full tang. The handle is secured with concealed internal pins, featuring textured scales for added grip, and a section of jimping on the spine for a non-slip thumb ramp.
Crafted from the highly corrosion-resistant LC200N steel, the Swick comes with a custom-molded Boltaron sheath. The sheath includes a fully adjustable G-Clip and a breakaway ball chain, providing various options for carrying the tool.
